Description Accent is a broad-spectrum herbicide for post-emergence control of grass and broad-leaved weeds in forage maize. It is particularly effective against: Annual meadow grass Italian ryegrass Cockspur grass Common couch (top growth only) Red dead-nettle and other broad-leaved weeds Accent works mainly by contact action, and is most effective when weeds are small and actively growing. It is suitable for use on all varieties of forage maize, though some sensitive varieties may show transient yellowing or stunting (usually outgrown without yield impact). Active Ingredient: 750 g/kg Nicosulfuron Application Timing: Apply from the 2-leaf stage (BBCH 12) up to and including the 8-leaf stage (BBCH 18) of maize growth Application Rate: 60 g/ha (maximum individual and total dose per crop) Water volume: 200–300 L/ha Use ground equipment to ensure good spray coverage Avoid overlapping spray swaths Use Notes: Do not apply to stressed crops (e.g. drought, waterlogging, pest damage) Do not use on maize undersown with clover, grasses, or other legumes Do not mix with foliar or liquid fertilisers Do not apply more than once per crop Do not apply to maize treated with organophosphate insecticides Buffer zone: Maintain a 5 m unsprayed buffer to surface water bodies Resistance Management: Accent contains nicosulfuron, an ALS inhibitor (HRAC Group 2). To prevent resistance, use in rotation or mixture with herbicides of different modes of action.
